Using Demantoid Garnet in Jewellery & Care Tips | Mohs Scale 6.5–7: Suitable for rings, pendants and earrings, though care should be taken with rings due to the stone’s relative softness. A very rare stone that wants to be seen, we think Demantoid is best shown off in a ring where its vivid green colour and brilliance can catch the light, however as it's not as hard as some other stones do make sure to protect the stone within your setting. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners as Demantoid can be brittle and often contains natural inclusions such as horsetails.

👀 Did you know? Demantoid Garnet is rare because it forms under very specific geological conditions, requiring both high temperature and pressure, and the presence of trace amounts of chromium or iron to produce its signature green colour. Only a few deposits worldwide yield gem-quality stones, making it one of the scarcest garnets & valuable gemstones on the market.
