Using Moonstone in Jewellery & Care Tips | Mohs Scale 6–6.5: Suitable for pendants, earrings and beads. It can be used in rings but needs a protective setting as Moonstone can scratch and chip quite easily. We love Moonstone in cabochon rings and pendants where the shimmering sheen really comes alive in the light. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners as Moonstone is sensitive to heat and pressure.

👀 Did you know? In ancient Rome, moonstone was believed to form from solidified rays of the moon, and Roman lapidaries were cutting and setting it as far back as the 1st century AD making it one of the oldest gemstones used in jewellery that are still popular today.
