Using Onyx in Jewellery & Care Tips | Mohs Scale 6.5–7: Suitable for rings, pendants, earrings and beads, tough enough for most types of jewellery. Onyx works especially well in signet rings and cabochon settings where its deep black polish gives a strong, classic look. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush only, avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners as Onyx can be porous.

👀 Did you know? Onyx has been used in jewellery and carvings since ancient Egypt and Rome, and was particularly favoured for cameo carving because of its clean lines and ability to hold fine detail.
