Using Peridot in Jewellery & Care Tips | Mohs Scale 6.5–7: Suitable for rings, pendants, earrings and beads, tough enough for most jewellery but avoid heavy knocks as it can cleave and crack. Peridot looks fantastic in rings where its bright green colour really pops, especially in yellow gold settings. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners as Peridot is sensitive to heat and inclusions are common.
👀 Did you know? Peridot is one of the only gemstones that forms in the Earth’s mantle, not the crust. Some rare specimens even arrive on Earth via meteorites, though most gem-quality stones are mined from volcanic rock.
