Using Spessartite Garnet in Jewellery & Care Tips | Mohs Scale 7–7.5: Suitable for rings, pendants, earrings and beads, tough enough for most jewellery. Spessartite has that fiery orange punch that refuses to be ignored, which is why we think it looks best in rings where it can really show off. Ultrasonic cleaning is usually considered safe, but with stones this valuable we’d rather not take chances, unseen inclusions can exist, so the safest bet is always warm soapy water and a soft brush.
