Designing with Yellow Gemstones ✨👀

Yellow gemstones capture the essence of sunlight, radiating optimism, warmth, and vitality. They’re the perfect choice for designers looking to add joy and luxury to their creations. Whether it’s the golden hues of citrine or the rich tones of yellow sapphire, these gems have an irresistible energy that speaks of confidence and creativity.

Yellow is the colour of light, intellect, and clarity, often associated with happiness, it makes people smile, abundance, and enlightenment. Across cultures, yellow gems have been worn to attract success, boost confidence, and enhance creativity.

But how should you use them in your designs?

Citrine

Colour range: From pale honey to deep Madeira orange.

Origins: Brazil (especially Rio Grande do Sul), Madagascar, and Spain.

Personality: Known as the “Merchant’s Stone,” Citrine is said to attract wealth and joy.

Jewellery use: Popular in modern and vintage-inspired designs, especially Art Deco styles. It was used a lot in mid 20th century and remains a popular choice even today.

Design tip: Pair Citrine with amethyst for dynamic colour contrast. In fact it’s naturally found as Ametrine in nature from Bolivia.

Significance: Symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and success in many cultures, particularly valued in Vedic astrology. (Vedic astrology explains planetary motions and position with respect to time, space, and their effect on humans and all the other entities on the planet Earth)

Jewellery use: Perfect for engagement rings or heirloom-quality fine jewellery.
